Granny PottyMouth

I always wanted to take my viral knowledge to the next level and see if I could create an influencer. So in 2016 I reached out to actor Peggy Glenn and together we came up with a concept: turn a lovable grandma into a foul-mouth, no-nonsense, dissonant digital character.

We initially shot two videos: “Cocktails With The Candidates” and “Gluten Free Cake.” We also created Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts to support the video releases. Within six months, our two videos combined for over 30 million views, and the YouTube channel amassed 200,000 subscribers. Within a year, Peggy was collaborating with some of YouTube’s biggest influencers. She has since used her fame to launch a cookbook appropriately named “Fast As Fuck.”

Facebook Strategy

To hyper-target fans of specific presidential candidates and maximize video shares, “Cocktails With The Candidates” was broken down into four candidate-specific videos and posted across social media. The audience was encouraged to share the video with a political fan who “needs a drink.”

Memes

We created memes to help promote the new character. We also released a number of photos and screenshots, encouraging fans to create their own memes.
